April 2012 Queens Swap
Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM (EDT)
The Queens Swap is a Queens-based social event that brings together passionate food enthusiasts, bakers, cooks, and foragers to barter (or swap) quality, homemade foods.
April's swap will be held at a private home in Astoria, Queens on Sunday, April 22, from 2-4:30pm. We are grateful to our host for opening up their home to us during the swap. Since we'll be meeting in a private home, feel free to include samples for people to taste! If you would like to bring something more elaborate to share with the rest of the attendees, be it food or drink, we would welcome that, too.
Swapping at the Queens Swap is free, but we are asking for donations ($5 suggested) to offset operating costs.
As much as we would love a ton of swappers, space constraints have limited this swap to 20 swappers. We will release the address of the swap via email closer to the date of the event. Please note that there is both a cat and a dog in residence at this home, in case there are any concerns about allergies, etc.
You can swap anything you want, but it must be made, grown, or foraged by you, personally. For the sake of convenience, we'd prefer that your items be packaged in some way - in cans, jars, paper bags, plastic containers, etc.
For more information on what to swap, head on over at http://www.queensswap.com. We can also be found on Facebook (feel free to Like us!).
Please spread the news to your friends, and we look forward to seeing you on the 22nd!
